Kinfold

A family care companion that helps BC families coordinate care for loved ones.

Kinfold helps British Columbia families organise care for a loved one: guidance when there is no family doctor, a waitlist companion, home-care top-up and a bridge for newcomer families. It never replaces 9-1-1 or 8-1-1.

Caring for someone is a second job

When a parent, partner or relative needs care, families in British Columbia often end up coordinating it themselves: finding where to go without a family doctor, keeping track of referrals and waitlists, arranging help at home, and sharing updates between siblings in different cities. Kinfold is a companion for that work. It helps families stay organised, informed and in step with each other.

What Kinfold helps with

No family doctor

Many BC residents do not have a regular family doctor. Kinfold offers plain-language guidance on the options that exist — such as walk-in and urgent care centres, virtual care and provincial attachment programs — and helps families keep a record of visits so information is not lost between appointments.

Waitlist companion

Specialist referrals, assessments and procedures can involve long waits. Kinfold helps families record each referral, note who to follow up with and when, and keep the documents they will need, so nothing slips while they wait.

Home-care top-up

Publicly funded home support does not always cover everything a family needs. Kinfold helps families plan and coordinate additional help at home and keep everyone involved aware of who is doing what.

Newcomer bridge

Families who are new to BC face an unfamiliar system on top of everything else. Kinfold explains how care is organised in the province and offers support in more than one language.

Shared by the whole family

Care is rarely one person's job. Kinfold lets family members share a care circle, see the same notes, appointments and tasks, and divide responsibilities fairly. Access is controlled by the family, and each member sees what they have been given access to.

What Kinfold is not

Kinfold never replaces 9-1-1 or 8-1-1. In an emergency, call 9-1-1. For health advice from a nurse, call 8-1-1 (HealthLink BC). Kinfold is an organising and guidance tool; it does not diagnose, prescribe or provide medical care.

Kinfold is paid for by the families who use it. There is no advertising, and we do not sell personal information. That keeps our attention on one question: does this make caring for someone easier?

Built with care for privacy

Kinfold runs on our Atlas Data Engine, built with access controls, activity logging and careful handling of personal and health information. It is developed by DigiVort's team in British Columbia.
